Altar Guild Contact: Margaret Hanel
When you enter the knave in St. Martin's Church, all is in readiness. The silent ministry of the Altar Guild has been at work. All the proper vessels, vestments, and hangings are in place.
The silver and brass have been polished and all the linens have been washed and ironed. The Altar Guild ensures the flowers have been arranged. Everything in the sanctuary has been prepared by the Altar Guild, God's housekeepers. All who perform these chores are devoted to God and feel privileged to serve Him.
Choir Music Director: James Wanker
Our choir, under the direction of Jim Wanker, sings during the 10AM Holy Eucharistic Service on Sundays. Rehearsal time is Thursdays at 5PM. St. Martin's has been blessed with a dynamic Music Director and members with beautiful voices dedicated to giving glory to God through song and music. New members are always welcomed.
Prayer Chain Contacts: Kathy Gosselin, Vera Scharf
Our Prayer Chain currently has thirteen members who pray diligently for the 200+ individuals on the Prayer Chain List. In addition to the sick and suffering who have asked for prayers, our Prayer Chain list includes all church ministries, clergy, staff, and The Armed Forces, both at home and abroad. Prayer Chain meets on the first Monday of the month at 10AM in St. Martin's Conference room. This ministry is offered in addition to the Prayer List that appears in our church bulletins.
We profoundly believe that God hears us and will in His way and in His time, answer our requests.
Lay Readers and Chalice Bearers Contact: Kathy Gosselin
During the service, a Lay Reader, who is a member of the congregation, reads two passages from Holy Scripture, typically one Old Testament reading and one New Testament reading, the Psalm appointed for the day, and Prayers of the People. A Chalice Bearer is one who assists with distributing the blood of Christ during Holy Communion.
Any older youth or adult may become a lay reader or chalice bearer following training. It is an honor and solemn responsibility to present the sacred readings and distribute the wine in the context of worship.
Acolytes Contact: Kathy Gosselin
We assist the clergy at God's Table and the congregation throughout the service leading by our example of dignity and reverence; thereby proclaiming the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ's Love.
An acolyte serves God through service in the church. Acolyte means one who serves. The acolytes are instrumental in helping the services to run smoothly. Acolytes also aid in the worship of the other Congregation members. Acolytes are leaders in the church through the examples they set at the altar. Acolytes understand and agree that they are expected to perform the duties of this ministry faithfully as a personal commitment of their time and talent in the service of the Lord.
Eucharistic Ministers/Visitations Contact: The Rev. Carl Crump
The Eucharist Ministers at St. Martin's assist the priest during the mass to dispense the wine during communion. A further role of the Eucharistic Minister at St. Martin's is for them to administer home communion to the sick and housebound. The Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LAEs) are the most important ministry in the church. We must take care of our shut-ins and those that are sick and suffering. This is the church's first responsibility; to let those who are sick and suffering, or otherwise shut-in, know that the church cares for them, and continues to serve them even in their homes, hospitals, or nursing homes. The ministers are trained by the deacon and priest and are certified and licensed as Eucharist Ministers to administer in both kinds (namely both the bread and the wine). If this is a ministry that interest you please contact me at www.ccrump10@tampabay.rr.com.

Daughters of the King Contact: Vera Scharf
The Daughters of the King is a religious order for lay women in the Episcopal, Anglican, Roman Catholic and Lutheran churches, and was organized in 1885. Every Daughter pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicating herself to the spread of Christ's kingdom, especially among women and girls. There is a three month preparation period before final vows are taken.
Daughters are young and old, rich and poor, beautiful and plain, community leaders and mothers, doctors and teachers, secretaries, executives and housewives, sinful and wavering, generous and strong. Daughters are ordinary human beings enabled by God's grace to do His work. The symbol of the Order is a silver Greek cross which members wear at all times. A chapter of DOK at St. Martin's will be starting soon. Watch this site for day and time.
