Church Ministries...

Christian Formation

St. Martin's offers many programs for the development of the Christian life:

"All Things New" - beginning with preschool children through fourth grade, this program gives a foundation for Christian growth.
"Youth to Adult" - Children, fifth grade through high school, are taught Christian responsibility.
"St. Martin's Academy" is the continuing education program for all ages offering Confirmation classes, Bible studies and seminars.

Spiritual Formation

Several ministries are dedicated to the spiritual life of St. Martin's.

The Order of St. Luke - Healing ministry is dedicated to the prayerful welfare of people in body, mind and spirit.

Parish Wellness - Several ministries of the congregation offer programs for wellness including emergency assistance, financial wellness, and pastoral care.

Evangelism

All ministries of St. Martin's are part of evangelism. Particularly, the presence of St. Martin's as a place for Christian growth is the work of evangelism.

Outreach

The ministry of the Outreach Commission is three-fold-to assist those in our own congregation, the local community and the world at large. The members of the Outreach Committee are representative of all the ministries within the congregation. Any member or organization within the church can nominate a program for support.

Parish Life

The Parish Life Commission coordinates the many volunteers offering their time, and talent to the parish; such as Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers and Greeters, and Coffee hour hosts/hostesses. They also oversee publication of the church's monthly newsletter, The Soundings; and offer assistance to those planning social activities within the life of the church community.

Prayer Chain

Paul tells us in his letter to the Thessalonians, “Pray without ceasing

The Prayer Chain is a division of The Parish Life Ministry. Prayers are said daily by every member of the St. Martin Prayer Chain for the needs of the congregation and our surrounding community. Prayers of Adoration, Thanksgiving, and Intercession are lifted to the Lord. Most of our request are for healing, physical, emotional and spiritual. We also pray for the safety of our Service men and women and for Justice and Peace throughout the world. The Prayer Chain meets the first Monday of each month, new members are always welcome. A Prayer Request can be submitted via phone or the church e-mail. May the Light of the Lord shine bright in each of you.

Stewardship

Our gifts of Time and Talent are offered through service both in, and outside, the church. Our gifts of Treasure, offered through our annual pledges, support the financial responsibilities of the church - locally, within our diocese, and at the national and international level. St Martin's has made commitments which range from supporting our local poor, to the support of our companion diocese in the Dominican Republic, and other needs around the world.
